Robot mower cut quality: how to judge the results
Judge cut quality by the lawn: even height, clean leaf tips, no scalped patches, and good coverage. Either a robotic mower or a crew-operated mower needs the right settings and maintenance to achieve that.
Check height and leaf tips
Walk the lawn after mowing. Look for torn tips, strips of taller grass, and exposed soil. Check the chosen height against the grass species. Do not lower a fescue lawn just because a mower can cut that low.
Sharp blades and manageable growth matter more than the label on the mowing method. A mower repeatedly taking off too much grass needs a different schedule or height.
Check the areas the mower cannot reach
Look beside walls, fences, beds, and steps. The cutting deck needs clearance, so some edges may need separate work. Include those areas in the service quote.
Trimly offers Precision Edge as a paid add-on for edging, string trimming, and blowing off hard surfaces. Confirm the scope instead of treating it as part of every mowing plan.
Check after rain and fast growth
Wet ground and rapid growth can change results. Adjust the schedule when needed. Repeated wheel tracks, missed areas, or clumps call for inspection rather than more run time alone.
